Parsons Drums

Parsons Drums is where you can learn about my musical career as a musician, studio performer/drum tech and teacher, as well as varied audio/video recordings.

Teaching

My Teaching Philosophy

Just like your thumbprint, you are unique, so my philosophy is that I am here to open up your mind to the possibilities inherent in your own musical personality. To explain and illustrate fundamentals...rudiments, history, posture, breathing, technique, reading, styles, soloing etc., to provide tools and concepts to express yourself and reach your specific goals,

I use all media (hand-written notes/exercises. method books, magazine articles, CDs, DVDs YouTube links etc). to help re-enforce concepts that are personally tailored for your needs. Often I will  record a student’s lesson to help illuminate specific areas and give them a reference point for growth. Seeing and hearing yourself play is a great learning tool. In addition, we can work on learning a favorite song note for note.  I have well over 500 songs (various styles) transcribed or I can transcribe a song of your choice.

Tuning, instrument selection, maintenance, general advice...just ask.

Beginner, hobbyist, intermediate or advanced, with over 25 years of professional playing experience as well as teaching since 1991, I will help you reach your goals

Rates

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic I’m offering remote lessons at $30 for a 40 minute Zoom lesson. Or, if you’re fully vaccinated I’m offering in person lesson $40 for one hour, $25 for half-hour.

Tuition for private lessons must be paid in advance and is due on or before the first lesson of each month via cash or PayPal.

I have a fully equipped music studio, with acoustic and electric drum sets, located conveniently off of I-5 in Tacoma.

Drum Tech & Rentals:

Every musical situation is unique, so accordingly I don't have set rate for studio recording services.  I'm flexible and enjoy helping each musician achieve the sounds and percussion tracks they are looking for.  Please contact me and we can talk about your needs and budget.
